Texas Children’s Hospital

  • Texas Children’s Hospital offers more than 40 pediatric subspecialties.

  • Texas Children’s is staffed by full-time faculty members of Baylor College of Medicine, which provides clinical care and education programs, and conducts the latest research. Baylor ranks No.1 among U.S. medical schools in funding from the National Institutes of Health.

Texas Children’s Ambulatory Surgery Center

  • Eight new operating rooms bring the total number to 21, each with the most advanced technology.

  • A recovery area features 26 post-anesthesia care beds in a large area that provides accommodations for parents at patients’ bedsides.

  • New operating rooms maximize patient flow, optimize room turnaround and decrease “down time” for surgeons.

  • The center is one of a few in the nation with the resources to treat any pediatric injury or condition that requires plastic surgery.

Texas Children’s Newborn Center®

  • The Newborn Center is the largest and busiest in the nation and offers one of the most comprehensive neonatal care programs in the world.

  • The 120-bed multidisciplinary care service, established in 1957, provided specialized care in 1998 for the world’s first set of octuplets to survive birth.

  • The Texas Children’s Milk Bank prepares and provides more than 100,000 “meals” of mother’s breast milk each year, ensuring that each bottle is properly matched to the right baby.

Texas Children’s Cancer Center®

  • The Texas Children’s Cancer Center is the largest pediatric cancer center in Texas and the largest pediatric hematology/oncology center in the country.

  • Each year, specialists at the center see more than 1,600 new patients with cancer and blood disorders, and conduct more than 24,000 outpatient visits. The Cancer Center sees patients from 35 states and 26 countries.

  • Leukemia, brain tumors, lymphoma, neuroblastoma, bone and soft tissue tumors, as well as a variety of other pediatric cancer and blood disorders, such as sickle cell disease, are treated at the center.

Texas Children’s Heart Center®

  • Texas Children’s Heart Center, caring for children since 1954, was the first subspecialty at the hospital. Specialists at the center see more than 1,200 patients annually and perform more than 700 surgeries.

  • The center has a greater than 90 percent success rate in congenital heart surgeries. The success rate is among the highest in the nation.

  • The center’s design provides a single point of care for exams, echocardiography, heart catheterization, congenital heart surgery and intensive care, enhancing continuity and delivery of care.

  • The center takes a holistic approach to medicine and focuses on family-centered care, including social service and child life staff to take care of the patient and family.
