Hospital Priorities

The new Jan and Dan Duncan Neurological Research Institute, slated to open in 2010, will focus the hospital's resources and talents on accelerating the study and treatment of pediatric neurological disorders, including:

  • Autism
  • Rett syndrome
  • Down syndrome
  • Angelman syndrome
  • Childhood epilepsy
  • Mental retardation
  • Language disorders
  • Cerebral palsy

With a strong focus on exploring emerging technologies and inventing new ones, researchers, clinicians and educators will work together in close proximity—literally and figuratively removing walls that slow the translation of new therapies from the laboratory bench to the bedside.
