Special events: Kris Brown's Kick Club

Kris Brown's Kick ClubHouston Texans kicker Kris Brown and his wife Amy founded the Kris Brown’s Kick Club in 2003 to benefit Texas Children’s Charity Care Program. To date the program has raised more than $475,000 for the patients and families of Texas Children’s.

The mission of the Kick Club is to provide hope, medical resources and healing for Texas Children's patients who need them most. It was inspired by Texas Children's charity care recipient Deedy Pendley, who said:

Kris Brown's Kick Club"If someone like Kris Brown had been around when my son Cody was alive, I would have let him know that hope, medical resources and healing is the precious gift that you have given my family by being so generous and determined. With Cody as fragile as he was, it was impossible for me to go out on my own and provide this for my son – Texas Children's Charity Care Program truly rescued us at such a critical time. These children are the least of the least, and Texas Children's Hospital and Kris Brown's Kick Club lets them and their families know how valued they still are."

Pendley is the mother of a Texas Children's patient and member of Kris Brown's Kick Club Advisory Board.

Most funds raised by Kris Brown’s Kick Club come from the corporate sponsorship program. Each corporate sponsor contributes $250 for every point Kris scores during the regular season. Joining the Browns as corporate sponsors for the 2007 season are Amegy Bank of Texas, Clear Channel Communications, Continental Airlines and The Redstone Companies.

Kris Brown's Kick ClubIn addition to corporate sponsors, Amy and Kris actively recruit community members to join the Kick Club and contribute to Texas Children’s Hospital.
