Is your child at risk?

As the mercury zooms upward and children of all ages head outdoors to enjoy fun in the sun and water, they become prime candidates for catastrophe. Drowning is the number one cause of death among children 1 year old to 3 years old, and children of all ages are at increased risk for playground injuries, heat illness and other life-threatening injuries. Create a pattern of healthy living that stays with your kids for the rest of their lives by making physical activity a part of your family's routine. Children need at least 60 minutes of physical activity daily. To keep it fun, encourage them to participate in a variety of activities, such as swimming, playing tag and biking.
