PATIENT OUTCOMES
Survival success

In the past five years, the survival rate at Texas Children's Newborn Center for an infant weighing less than 1,500 grams is 86 percent. Over half of these infants weighed less than 1,000 grams at birth. That means Texas Children's Newborn Center routinely cares for the smallest, most fragile infants while maintaining tremendous outcomes.

Texas Children's Neonatology Graduate Clinic provides primary medical follow-up for all infants, especially for preterm infants and for patients with complex medical conditions.

The Desmond Neonatal Follow-Up Clinic follows infants who receive special therapies such as ECMO or nitric oxide at Texas Children's Hospital.
