Community volunteers also help.

Services include well-child examinations, minor illness evaluation and treatment, vaccinations, nutrition guidance, health and safety education, health insurance and social service referrals. The SuperKids clinic offers free immunizations and health screenings at many locations during the summer.

SuperKids impact on the community
The SuperKids team is a group of bilingual medical professionals dedicated to helping children and their parents navigate a variety of health care systems. The team can identify medical problems that may require further care and refer the child for more evaluation.

Often, families seen by the SuperKids team are nervous about seeking medical care or feel they cannot afford the expense. One of the most important outcomes of the SuperKids program is young families are encouraged to go to a primary care physician for their children instead of relying on the hospital emergency room.

Helping families obtain insurance coverage
A family is more likely to get medical help if they have health care coverage. The SuperKids staff works with families to help them complete applications for insurance coverage and provides information on how to get free or reduced price dental and vision care.

Educating children and families for health and well-being
The SuperKids staff provides workshops on healthy eating habits and good hygiene and distributes information on how to prevent illnesses, treat common ailments and access routine medical care.
