Partnership with Baylor College of Medicine

  • Texas Children’s Hospital participates with Baylor College of Medicine in approximately 400 research projects funded by nearly $58 million annually. The close partnership between Texas Children’s and Baylor represents one of the nation’s largest commitments to pediatric research.

  • More than 120 investigators from Texas Children’s and Baylor work on studies in areas including cancer, neurology, cardiology, neonatology, diabetes, infectious diseases and renal diseases in the Feigin Center.

Research

  • As the nation’s largest pediatric hospital, Texas Children’s is renowned for its expertise and breakthrough developments in the treatment of cancer, premature infants, cardiogenic disorders, diabetes, asthma, HIV/AIDS and attention-related disorders.

  • Texas Children’s Feigin Center has been renovated from a patient-care and research facility into a dedicated research center. The center is home to 200,000 square feet of space for research laboratories, a conference center and spaces for researcher interaction.

Education

  • Texas Children’s is the primary pediatric training site for Baylor College of Medicine, which operates one of the largest pediatric residency programs in the country.

  • Through its affiliation with Baylor and other educational institutions, Texas Children’s conducts educational programs for medical and allied health professionals.

Texas Children’s Hospital

  • The internationally recognized hospital is ranked nationally No. 4 by Child magazine and No. 5 by U.S. News & World Report.

  • Texas Children’s medical staff consists of more than 1,625 board-certified, primary-care physicians, pediatric subspecialists, pediatric-surgical subspecialists and dentists. In addition, Texas Children’s offers a highly skilled nursing and support staff of more than 7,000.
