Real life: On your own with IBD
is a comprehensive, understandable and practical resource for teens
and young adults with Crohn's and colitis. This site was created by the
physicians, staff and patients of Texas Children's Hospital's
Inflammatory Bowel Disease Center to be used by people who
already have been diagnosed with IBD and are familiar with the
symptoms associated with the illness.
Here you will find information on
everything from
medications and
procedures to dealing with
friends
and toilets. Navigate
through this site for advice, information and support, and download
the charts and records to begin or continue organizing the medical
side of your life.
Create your own
plan
One of the primary goals of this site is
to help you create a realistic, individualized action plan to manage your IBD. Using
the stoplight analogy, we'll show you how to personalize your
stoplight plan
by identifying your levels of health (poor, medium and excellent).
If you have questions that aren't answered here or want to offer
feedback about the site, contact us via phone at 832-822-3625 or e-mail at
LifeWithIBD@texaschildrenshospital.org.
It is not the intention of this Web site to provide
specific professional medical advice, but rather to provide users
with information about inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). If you are
experiencing any symptoms associated with IBD, please contact a
licensed medical doctor to diagnose, treat and professionally
address those symptoms.
