Children's Miracle Network
April in Houston means temperatures are on the
rise — and so is the need for ice cream! The 27th annual Ben & Jerry’s
Free Cone Day offers you a “cool” way to beat the heat and help
patients at Texas Children’s Hospital.
From noon until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 19,
ice cream lovers can enjoy a free cup or cone at one of the four Ben &
Jerry’s locations in the greater Houston area. As part of Free Cone
Day, each store also is collecting donations for Texas Children’s
Hospital, a proud member of Children’s Miracle Network.
Texas Children’s is the new and only hospital
in the 19 counties of the greater Houston area to benefit from
Children’s Miracle Network and devotes 100 percent of the funds raised
through Children’s Miracle Network to its charity care program.
"We're particularly pleased to be partnering
with Texas Children’s this year," said Alex Carriles, owner/operator
of two local Ben & Jerry’s Scoop Shops. “They do so much for this
community in their efforts to provide charity care. Last year, Texas
Children’s provided more than $21 million in pediatric charity care to
nearly 15,000 children. It's an honor to scoop side-by-side with these
folks."
Texas Children’s partnership with Children’s
Miracle Network helps the hospital continue to provide the best in
pediatric care, research and education for children. Visit your local
Ben & Jerry’s on Tuesday, April 19, to get free scoops and support
Texas Children’s Hospital. With your help,
we can create miracles in the lives of countless children and their
families.
