 Chevron Houston Marathon
once again Runs for a Reason
Training season has
begun, and runners across the city and the U.S. are preparing for
the 2008 Chevron Houston Marathon and Aramco Houston Half Marathon.
Many of these runners are not simply training for their best times –
they are raising money for charities in the process.
Children’s Miracle
Network at Texas Children’s Hospital has once again been selected as
a Charity of Choice for the 2008 race. After runners register
online, they have the option to set up a fundraising page and raise
money for their selected charity. Dedicated runners raised over
$13,000 for Texas Children's Hospital in the 2007 race.
In addition, the
Texas Children’s Hospital Kids Fun Run, which occurs on the Saturday
prior to the marathon, will also include a fundraising component
this year. All funds raised by runners will benefit Children’s
Miracle Network at Texas Children's Hospital.
