Children's Miracle Network
News Release

Mary Lou Retton, Olympic gold medalist and member of the Board of Governors of Children’s Miracle Network, with Mark Wallace, president and chief executive officer of Texas Children’s Hospital, and Dr. Ralph Feigin, physician-in-chief at Texas Children’s.

During the first weekend in June, Texas Children’s Hospital and KTRK-TV Channel 13 hosted the hospital’s first televised Children’s Miracle Network celebration—Miracles in the Making: Stories of Hope and Healing at Texas Children’s Hospital.

Hosted by Mary Lou Retton, the first American woman ever to win the Gold Medal in the All-Around Women's Gymnastics and member of the Board of Governors of Children’s Miracle Network, the broadcast program included ten 30-minute segments of local Children’s Miracle Network activities and Miracle Stories of Texas Children’s patients.

The program, produced by Stone Films, was a tribute to the many national sponsors whose efforts on behalf of Children’s Miracle Network have already raised significant funds for Texas Children’s Hospital. These generous sponsors and their employees embody the same spirit of hope and healing that Texas Children’s brings to countless children here in Houston and around the world.

During the broadcast, viewers were provided with the opportunity to become a “Texas Children’s Hospital Miracle Maker” by making a monthly donation of $20 or more. For more information about making a donation to Children’s Miracle Network and Texas Children’s Hospital, call toll-free 866-616-2244.

Your ongoing support as a “Miracle Maker” of Texas Children’s Hospital helps create miracles in the lives of countless children and their families through our Charity Care program.
