Patient Guide - Insurance

To ensure continuity of care for children, parents need to be knowledgeable about their family’s health insurance.
Please be advised that referrals and co-pays are a parent’s responsibility. If insurance requires a referral for testing or future visits, you must contact the primary care physician (PCP) to obtain the required referral and make sure it is processed prior to your appointment.
Families receiving Medicaid assistance should monitor all changes in their coverage. By updating your own coverage every six months, you can make certain that your provider is accepted by Texas Children’s Hospital – and your child’s treatment continues uninterrupted.
