Texas Children’s Brachial Plexus Clinic
Texas
Children’s Hospital Brachial Plexus Clinic was founded in 1987 and is dedicated to
providing treatment and care for brachial plexus injuries. The core
philosophy of our clinic has been to use a multidisciplinary
approach to correcting the injury while providing for the child’s
overall care. This past year has been difficult for our clinic in that
two of the founders, both extremely talented
physicians, passed away in the fall of 2004. The deaths of Dr. Rita Lee, neurology director of the clinic, and Dr. John Laurent, neurosurgeon, have affected our ability to provide a
multidisciplinary approach to evaluating and treating clinic
patients. Therefore, we have decided to place clinic operations on
hold until Texas Children's can ensure the availability of a team of pediatric subspecialists to provide a multidisciplinary review for brachial
plexus patients.
New patients will not be accepted for appointments to the Brachial
Plexus Clinic. If you are a new patient and would like to see:
All patients with existing appointments with the clinic will be
contacted during the next 30 to 60 days to discuss reappointments to
appropriate clinics based on a review of current treatment
plans.
If you have questions, please call Ambulatory Services
Administration at 832-822-4778.
