HOUSTON (JULY 10, 2007) – Houston Astros’ Infielder, Adam Everett, known as one of the greatest defensive players in Major League Baseball, is also known for his generous heart. As a way to show gratitude to Texas Children's Hospital, he will participate with more than 100 kids in the Ultimate Field Experience, a benefit supporting Texas Children's Hospital Charity Care Program on Saturday, August 11.

Everett’s heart of gold was stolen two years ago when he and his wife, Jennifer, welcomed their daughter, Peyton, his true love, into the world. The Everett’s bliss quickly turned into heartache and fear when doctors at Texas Children's Hospital told them that 6-month-old Peyton had a benign tumor near her spinal cord. Since that day, the Everett’s have been grateful for all of the physicians and staff at Texas Children's Hospital who continue to give their daughter the best care available. Now the Everett’s want to help other kids receive the same excellent care that their daughter is receiving and hope that Ultimate Field Experience will give families this opportunity.

The first 100 children will have the opportunity to take the field and learn techniques from select Houston Astros players in the afternoon. Everett, along with his wife and daughter, will host a reception in the Club level of Minute Maid Park. Following the reception, Mark A. Wallace, President and Chief Executive Officer of Texas Children's Hospital, and a patient from Texas Children's Hospital, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch to Adam Everett before the 6:05 p.m. game between the Houston Astros and Milwaukee Brewers begins.

To further show their support of the hospital, the Astros are offering discounted tickets for the evening’s game, with the proceeds from the Ultimate Field Experience benefiting Texas Children’s Charity Care Program, a program providing financial relief to families who are unable to pay their child’s medical costs.  Every child at Texas Children’s receives the finest medical care, regardless of the family’s ability to pay.  Last year alone, Texas Children's Hospital provided more than $80 million in charity care.

Individual tickets for the Ultimate Field Experience are available for purchase online at www.astros.com/ultimatefieldexperience and are priced according to seat location.  Please enter the password, Everett, to receive the special pricing rates.
